Mulakaffi - Reykjavik

The most authentic restaurant we have found in Reikiavik as far as local cuisine is concerned. Although something far from the resort is right next to the City Park hotel. It looks like a social dining room but it is very frequented by police and officials and the truth is that it is worth it. It works as a buffet and in the menu you can choose between three or four main dishes, the soup of the day and make a salad to taste, in addition to dessert. Soups are very good and the most typical products are fish and lamb although cooked differently than we are used to. If you don't have manias and you like to throw yourself to try local gastronomy this is the right place. Also the service is very friendly and the price of the most economical you will find in the city.

Do not overlook this place just because it has a cafeteria-style setup. We tried the goulash and the fish in curry sauce. It was a fantastic and speedy meal! The staff was friendly and helpful. There is also a small salad bar available.

If you're looking for a genuine Icelandic blue-collar restaurant, this is the spot for you. The comfort food is delicious, served in a simple communal table setting with an all-you-can-eat salad bar. The prices are affordable compared to other restaurants in Iceland and offer great value for money.
