They literally just got that from the ocean. The appetizer posted below is out of this world, Fish and chips was amazing as well and even my daughter who had a vegan plate was great if you like hummus! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Prices were ok compared to the rest!
Another must visit in Reykjavik in my opinion. The lamb shank and fish chips were some of the best I’ve tried. The decor and atmosphere is very cozy. The patio is also lovely with lots of seating. You get view of the famous cathedral from the patio.
Small but cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and clean. Their fish is very tasty and the beer goes down better than water.
Very good food with a mix of flavors. The staff is very nice and the service was fast. The pizza is really good and the crust is flat and crisp. You can watch them stretch the dough by hand.
Salka Valka eldhús was such a wonderful surprise. We decided to stop in here on a whim and were happy we did. It's a cozy little place with pleasant aromas that greet you as soon as you walk through the door. They do not accept reservations due to how small their restaurant is but do not let that deter you. We were still able to walk in and get a table right away. We started off by getting the plaice for an appetizer. My husband and I each got our own orders of the fish stew. The only downside was that there was not enough of the fish stew as that was absolutely amazing. We were half tempted to get another order because of how good it was but we were trying to contain ourselves and also wanted to have room for the bar we were heading to. We definitely will make this a stop the next time we are coming through Reykjavik and you should as well.
