Rene is amazing! The atmosphere feels incredibly homey, the service is outstanding, and the food is absolutely worth the visit. If you’re ever in the area, make sure to stop by during lunchtime. I highly recommend this place, and we will definitely be returning very soon!

The ambiance inside the restaurant was very comfortable. While we waited for our food, I commented that this place is what Bennigan's should have been. The staff continued to be just as friendly in person. At one point, a waiter even sat down to eat his own meal, but he made sure to check in on us as well. Our food arrived fairly quickly, around 15 minutes after we placed our order. The bag had a ticket confirming our order: taco salad with no olives, ranch and salsa on the side, and the tilapia with steamed broccoli and corn, along with tartar sauce on the side. However, when we got home, I discovered that my taco salad had been replaced with a pork roast accompanied by macaroni and cheese and corn. Talk about a major disappointment! If there were an opposite of a taco salad, that would be it. I called the restaurant back to ask what happened. They mentioned that they would investigate the mix-up, which I assumed was due to the extra taco salad they had on record. It was too far away for me to return before closing, so they initially offered me credit for a free meal during my next visit. I appreciated the gesture but later they informed me after consulting with the manager that they could not offer me a free meal. Instead, they said they would credit my card for the amount of the taco salad. My wife’s tilapia, on the other hand, was delicious! It was perfectly cooked and had a lovely char on the outside. I tried making a sandwich with the pork, adding some onions and jalapeños along with one of the rolls they provided with the order. This experience was quite disappointing, especially given the excellent customer service and the overall friendly vibe of the restaurant. It felt like hitting a home run only to pull a hamstring while running the bases. Having worked in the service industry for years, I understand that mistakes happen. There were plenty of times I’ve woken up in the middle of the night, horrified at having forgotten to deliver something a customer had requested. I can only imagine how disheartening it was for the kind staff who had mistakenly served a pork roast instead of a taco salad. Just a tip – be sure to double-check your order before leaving!

The food was excellent. The appetizers were served hot and tasted wonderful. It did take a bit of time to receive the main courses, but I’m not sure what caused the delay. However, the orders were accurate, and the meals were served hot. I can’t praise the beef and mushroom soup enough; it was absolutely delicious. The desserts were also fantastic. I’ll definitely be returning!

This is a large local family home cooking style restaurant that has a variety of offers. Really good food, great staff. Very recommended.

Visited The String Bean Restaurant for the first time last night and we had a wonderful dinner! Our waiter was fantastic, our meals were prompt and hot, and the portions were ample. Mom thought the cole slaw needed a touch of vinegar but that was the only thing that any of us wished was different. The banana pudding is superb!!! We're already looking forward to our next visit. Thanks for a wonderful meal, String Bean!
