This is a our go to DQ whenever we are in the mood to walk or bike here. Service is prompt and they have updated COV-ID 19 precautions and mandated that all customers wear masks and limit the number of customers in the store at a time. They are open normal hours and have updated their patio seating to help with social distancing. Overall, a good neighborhood option for a quick sweet tooth fix.

I visited this restaurant tonight just 10 minutes before closing time. The doors were locked, and the staff inside were making faces at those of us trying to enter while laughing among themselves. Instead, I ended up getting ice cream at Speedway. I noticed at least half a dozen other groups also tried to get in. They kept the OPEN sign lit until at least 10:30.

I don't know what it is about this place, but the ice cream here is incredible compared to other Dairy Queens. The texture is consistently thick and perfect, while most other locations I've visited can be hit or miss. Every Dairy Queen should aim to be this delicious! The interior might be a bit small, but they have a patio where you can enjoy your dessert, which is great because people generally spend too much time indoors. It’s nice to get some fresh air. The only downside is that this location is seasonal. Thankfully, they have reopened for the year and now have a new soft serve machine. The taste and texture are just as amazing as ever.

They make their own buster bars at the Dairy Queen on Portland Avenue. Don't buy them I bought a box and the first two had hardly any fudge in them. They were more like expensive dilly bars. The staff was friendly and nice.
