The service got four stars out of five because they were out of many of their drink options the person providing the service was wonderful. The atmosphere was three stars. This place is predominantly take out but they have a few tables out front to sit if the weather's nice. Did I mention the food was delicious?
Huge fan of the soul bowl downtown. The one in Richfield was absolutely awful. The beef Patty's were rock hard. The rice was unbelievably dry and hard. The jerky was actually burnt. Not smoky but burnt. I felt as if the food was sitting there since early morning. I seek out black owned businesses and try to give amazing reviews, but this particular spot was horrific. I will continue to support the downtown location but I can never ever step foot in the Richfield location. Stay far away
I had Soul Bowl cater a small meeting lunch for a training and everything was fantastic! From working with them via email on the menu, to the on-time delivery and the actual food, it was all really great. Every person in the meeting kept raving about how delicious it was! Would definitely recommend.
Where to begin. So, I was at the Galaxy Supermarket when I saw Soul Bowl. I figured I could grab some lunch. First off, the sign for Soul Bowl is so small that you would pass it on the street. The inside of the restaurant is small, standing room only. Nothing wrong with that. It 's cafeteria style serving on a hot table so you can see all the food choices, that is nice. The server was very nice and very helpful. Now the food. I ordered a Southern Hospitality bowl and a Caribe Bowl with some peach cobbler and a Queen B Lemonade. I had originally asked for the Sweet Potato Pie and Iced tea but they were out of it. ?? They put everything in a paper bag and I was off. When I got home I opened everything up, the smells were awesome. I tried the Lemonade it was very good and it came in a grown up drink pouch. The cornbread it came with was very dense like a brownie and very sweet. Not bad just real sweet. I tried the fried chicken ? ? well the breading was very soggy due to the juice from the greens I guess. So the breading was pretty much paste-like. Not good. The flavor of the chicken ehhh and the pieces I had were VERY small. Almost like the chicken was a garnish for the sides ? ?. The best part of this bowl was the macaroni and cheese. The sweet potatoes were good, the greens could have been cooked a little longer and they were a little salty. I 'm not saying the bowl was bad because someone will say it was super delicious. I just wouldn 't get it again. I would take the macaroni and cheese though. Now for the Caribe Bowl, I liked this one. The j chicken was nice and spicy (I asked for the sauce on the side) the sauce was good and together it was delicious ?. The plantains were typical. Meaning nothing special but they were good. The yellow rice was dry, I would have added a gravy or a sauce to it to help it out a bit. But overall I liked this bowl. Lastly, the peach cobbler. Now this was different, it was based on a raised donut with a scoop of deliciously spiced peaches, crumbled nilla wafer like cookies and a light drizzle of caramel sauce. Now that was SO delicious!!!!The price point was very high, but hey it is what it is. The customer service was on point and very nice. Would I go back.......... Good question. I wouldn 't go out of my way to get it, nor would I pay to have it delivered. But if I was in the area... And was hungry... I 'd grab the j chicken with the Mac n cheese and the peach cobbler. Sure.
The service was great! Very personable staff. Everything that I got was vegan and it was TASTY! .
