Beautiful meal with the family. service was great and eat goid
The Kew Ask Italian restaurant is our favorite. It's a shame it's 200 miles away from home, but it's worth the drive! The staff is friendly and attentive, but not overly intrusive. The food is delicious and the noise level is just right, not too loud but not too quiet like a library. Highly recommended. This was the third time we booked through OpenTable and the third time the restaurant did not have our reservation. I have now learned to call them the day after making a reservation to confirm availability, and usually end up booking directly with Ask. This experience won't deter us from going to Ask Italian, but it does not inspire confidence in using OpenTable.
We usually love dining at this family restaurant, but despite calling 17 times to change our reservation time without receiving an answer, we were unable to adjust it and had to stick with the original booking slot. We assumed they must have been busy, so it was surprising to find the restaurant less than 50% full when we arrived. The staff is usually prompt and attentive, but on this particular day, they seemed to be off their game. It's unclear what was causing the issues, but it's something that needs to be addressed.
We sat right away. the waitress took over our drink order. she took our food order when she brought our drinks. we only ordered garlic bread and olive for appetizers. the main was a pasta dish with chicken and mushroom pieces in a white wine sauce that was very beautiful. we had a glass of white wine and a gin cocktail. both enjoyed us. everything in all service and eating was good.
