Contribuisci feedbackThis was my first time visiting The Answer Pub. The location is interesting. Kind of tucked away behind a building. Not a problem. In my experience some of the best places look the most obscure. The decor and vibe was a little off. There are some Asian decor and an Asian food menu, yet the whole place has a very American feel. Not sure what the intention is there. Maybe they have sacrificed environment and decor to focus more on their beers (which are amazing). The food was mediocre. I had the Pork Belly Banh Mi which had a couple of thin strips of pork belly. My partner had the shrimp Banh Mi which was slightly better. Food is not this places forte. The beer was amazing! The selection, incredible. I’m not a stout or porter fan but I just couldn’t pass up some of the ones they had on tap here. The Blanton’s German Chocolate was my favorite! The service was also incredible! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. If you’re looking for a great beer experience, I urge you to check out The Answer Pub.
Always of favorite of mine and the reason why I have made several 8 hours drives to Richmond. This is one of my favorite taprooms in America for so many reasons but the main one is their good beer; Joose, Andall Stouts and IPAs are always on tap. I go for multiple flights and always enjoy their great beer. The theming and environment of their large tap room with an arcade is also great and a fun spot to chill. I have always loved being right next to Mekong for food food but now the tap room food with sides appetizer and street Vietnamese food is killer. The spring rolls were top notch and the fries are great tap room fries. Now the Bahn Mi was the star it was a quite large and loaded with flavor! My picture is a half order of bahn mi as I split it with my friend.
Probably my favorite brewery ever. I went out of my way this past trip through Richmond to make sure I could bring home some quad mother fruited crowlers. Atmosphere is stellar, food menu overlaps with Mekong which is always delicious, and the beers are amazing. Can’t go wrong stopping here for food, beer, or both!
Where to start? This spot is a legendary institution among beer geeks and one of my favorite happy places on earth. But I think what truly makes it exceptional is that it's so welcoming to anybody. Even if you don't like beer or might be intimidated by the huge tap selection, no worries! They have something for everyone and ALWAYS have a friendly, helpful and well trained staff ready to assist. Cozy and inviting atmosphere, absolutely no beer snobbery happening here. Maybe not new and modern but it is clean and comfortable. Interesting and tasty menu with plenty of shareable options or multiple individual items to choose from as well. The beers and meads range in styles from A-Z and come from all over the world to a good brewed right there. I'm a huge fan of their fruited Sours (Joose) and Stouts because they are loaded with intense flavor but still balanced and very drinkable. Their Lagers (other traditional styles as well), IPA's and Seltzers are also exceptional.
Fantastic beer both in house brews and guest/featured taps. One of your must visit spots in Richmond
