Piazza Italiana - Riga

By Latvia's standards, it is not a cheap place. But the food is excellent, the service impeccable, and the environment comfortable.

Was curious about this restaurant. I ordered the focaccia as the starter and the mushroom risotto as the main dish. The focaccia was a great surprise: what I got was actually a thin, crispy pizza that could have made a main dish on its own. A delicious thing. I got my risotto so quickly that I was still in the middle of my humongous starter. I wish I had ordered something else. The risotto was a plate of thick sauce with pieces of mushroom and small traces of rice.

Great evening with deeply satisfying pasta and exceptional wine. The octopus carpaccio, truffle-cheese pasta and porcini pasta were perfect. Also it’s great to get exceptionally good wine by the glass. Service was very professional.

What a fantastic experience. Staff were excellent and attentive. Presentation was simple but more than enough. But the taste, textures and quantity was above perfect. Probably the best meal I've ever had. Never bother with desserts, but after the starter and main, I wanted to see if it also exceeded my expectations. How can you make an apple pie and ice cream that special? Again, amazing! And the Tiramisu made my wife's night. So light with the slightest of coffee flavours. Do not miss sampling this amazing eatery. We will certainly be back with others, possibly tomorrow evening!

I recommend. In Christmas time 2023 food was really good, pasta and lasagne. The tiramisu was the best I have ever eaten. The service was excellent. The restaurant is really clean and atmospheric.
