However, while we waited, we had a delightful conversation with a local resident about the area, mushroom hunting nearby, and the changes happening in town. The atmosphere in the beer garden was quite comfortable, and we took our time savoring our meal. A little bird even made several appearances at our table, hoping for scraps. The beer selection was decent, featuring some local brews from the nearby brewery that were quite refreshing. For a casual spot where you can be seated quickly, Pastime is definitely a great choice!
The four of us, all of legal drinking age (two in their 20s/30s and two in their 60s), were seated in the bar area. Unfortunately, one of the individuals in their 60s forgot their ID, and despite being clearly of age, we had to relocate to the family-friendly side of the restaurant. It wasn't a problem, as the place wasn't crowded and there were plenty of seats available. Our server was friendly and continued to serve us even though we had moved out of her section. Drinks arrived quickly, albeit a bit pricey and not very strong, but hey, it was still nice to have a drink. The menu featured a variety of typical fare, including burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, and fried items. My husband and I shared an appetizer of jalapeño poppers with ranch dip. For dinner, he had the grilled cheese (with white cheddar and apples), while I opted for a half BLT sandwich, clam chowder, and a green salad. The bacon in my half sandwich was fantastic, and despite it being a smaller portion, I felt comfortably full afterward. The chowder was decent, not the best I've ever had, but it appeared homemade and had a reasonable amount of clams. Our total bill for two came to around $50, which felt a bit pricey, but the meal was enjoyable. If we find ourselves in town again, we might consider stopping by the Pastime, though we’re not certain just yet. We'll see what happens!
My husband and I decided to grab a quick meal. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, and let me clarify—it wasn't a small, kid-sized portion! The choices were abundant. I chose rye bread. And when it came to the type of rye? So many options! As for the cheese? It was fantastic, high-quality food!
This is probably my favorite bar in Roslyn. Friendly bartenders, ping pong table, great beer selection. I reserved the back room for my fiancés surprise birthday party, when I told them how much he loved to play ping pong they even put the ping pong table in the party area for us! It was also great that the room had flat screens to watch the football games on. Not to mention they had an awesome cover band playing Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin and other great classic rock songs. In the summer time they have an outside patio with green grass and shaded tables. Love this place
After a 12 hour hike, my friend and I were famished when we rolled into town at 9pm. All of the other restaurants/bars quit serving food at 9, so this was our only option without having to drive to Cle Elum. We both had the BBQ burger and fries. The burger came out in about 15 minutes and was pretty tasty. The fries were luke warm and not the greatest. I washed mine down with a Roslyn lager. The band 'Jumpin Jack ' was just getting started as we left. The guitarist was doing all sorts of weird gyrations while playing, which added to the entertainment. The place was pretty packed with locals, as there is live music here every weekend. Not a bad way to finish off a long day of hiking.
