We have been to the Magill Kitchen a number of times and have always enjoyed being there and the food, the venue and, of course, the view. This time we did not think that the 38 main course we both had was worth the money. The dessert was delicious and the wine excellent but the service bringing the dessert was extremely slow. The staff are friendly and attentive. Would go back for coffee but not a meal. The restaurant was not crowded because of COVID.
Sensational food, amazing service and couldn’t thi know a better place to be
First as we entered we were told off by one of the staff as one of us did not have a mask on. As a high end restaurant I think courtesy is very important. We are not 8 year olds and to start the day being told off that “ you should know mask is mandatory and you should always carry a spare with you all the time” . Then as I was ordering my tea I requested for my tea to be stronger but used the word Thicker instead and the waitress looked at me and raised her eyebrow and gave me a puzzled look. Food was very substandard today. Buttermilk chicken was overly oily and dark. The scrambled eggs looked so runny it was not appetising .
Everything was so lovely we had the best time. The food was delicious and the service was absolutely flawless. Jasmin was our server she was amazing had extensive knowledge of the champagnes we were interested in trying with our meal. We had the new penfolds rose champagne it suited the dishes we had ordered beautifully. The view over the vineyards are spectacular.
