Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and the staff was very welcoming. However, there were a few issues. We didn't receive any cookies before or after our meal, and had to inquire with the waitstaff before we were given any. We had to request refills for our drinks multiple times, and even then, the waiter would only remember to refill one drink and forget the others. The chicken and dumplings I ordered had only one piece of chicken in a bowl full of dumplings. The fried okra was cold and chewy. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be returning to this restaurant anytime soon.

We stopped by for breakfast, but ended up leaving without eating. The restaurant was extremely busy and we were seated at a small table in a high-traffic area, so we opted to find another place. The storefront was very impressive, with a wide variety of old-fashioned candies on display. We definitely plan on coming back to explore all the fun offerings they have.

There were too many tables packed in a small room. There was food and garbage everywhere. The bathrooms were dirty. The server forgets things. Like syrup; Food was cold when they brought it. Although most of the foods were brought out cold. The chicken dumplings sat in watered soup. After a waiting period of 30 minutes, the drinks were diluted. The server disappeared completely, so we had to ask other servers to find him. We will not return to this CB.

My wife ordered the kid's meal which was grilled chicken and mashed potatoes. The chicken was full of grizzle and the mashed potatoes were crusty. I got the Sunday fried chicken with okra and mashed potatoes. The okra must have been cooked way earlier and then deep fried again because it was tough. The chicken was nothing to brag about and the mashed potatoes were below average. The whole meal was just not appetizing at all. Even the biscuits were barely done. Worst meal we have ever gotten at any Cracker Barrel ever. If this Cracker Barrel had been the first one we tried, we would have never tried another. Just ate at one in Gainesville last week and it was really good. Won't be dining at the Round Rock Cracker Barrel in the future.

We have ordered curbside pickup from various locations in the USA, and this place had the best-tasting food we've had so far. The roast beef dinner and Southern roasted chicken were both cooked perfectly. However, my chicken portion looked small and the leg resembled a drumstick. Our only other complaint was that we had to wait 10 minutes past the pick-up time and no one brought our food. My husband had to go into the store and found it sitting on the counter. Thankfully, it was still warm. Overall, I would give this place 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.
