The city has seen better days, and by spreading 'English Spoken Here' signs in shop windows, too much... Loading was placed on custom by Ex-patent Brits who quickly decrease in this part of France. La Comedie was one of only two places worth lunch in Ruffec (the other Le Bistrot Central, who was unexplained the day I was there). No, I'm afraid. I drove to Mansle (15km south) and had an unforgettable lunch in La Marmite (see my review).
This restaurant has new management since June 2018. It is now more restaurant than worker lunch with intelligent tablecloths and beautiful tables. €14 for two courses, 3 courses could be €16. The restaurant Salle is wheelchair accessible, but toilets are not...and are up to 2 levels. The food was very nice, not exceptional, but good value. However, the service was certainly relaxed, and some can feel service is too slow, but it was acceptable. Nice atmosphere. We enjoyed our meal there very much. Pas mal, bon repas, service un peu lent/ détendu, mais pas trop mal. Bon valeur. C'était un plaisir de manger là.
We came at 12.30 a.m., but no table available so we were asked to return at 11.00 a.m. when the table was released. But not cleared. We waited. At 1.30 p.m., the table was clarified unwillingly. No offer of a drink yet. 10 minutes later we asked for a drink and asked how long a meal could be. The waitress replied that she didn't know. We left. We know that we are in France Nd Lunch is a long meal, but that was horrified.
Il est 14h30 et on peut encore déjeuner en terrasse à Rufec. Nous nous y sommes arrêtés par hasard sur la route des vacances. Le service est aimable attentif authentique et les plats sont bons sans extravagance. Carte avec salade et burger.
Nothing to say about the quality of food. But make stupid that you carefully check the will. Try to pay us 7 instead of 6 euros for two fruit juices. Not very nice to treat customers.
