The food was delicious, but the portions were small and not worth the price. The restaurant lacked any atmosphere and I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a voucher deal.
We dined at this restaurant as part of a package during our stay at Brandon Hall hotel, and we were very pleased with both our dinner and breakfast. The menu had a variety of options for starters, main courses, and desserts, all of which were impeccably presented, delicious, and good value for money. Breakfast was excellent, with a selection of cereals, pastries, and a well-stocked hot buffet including eggs, sausages, and bacon. I highly recommend dining at this restaurant if you are staying at the hotel or in the area.
Visited here whilst staying in the hotel, and to be honest it was a bit disappointing for me. My colleagues suggested eating at the nearby Royal Oak Pub, wish I had now. The menu did not look particularly good value, and it was hard to find 2 courses for under £20.00, most brassiere types restaurants offer a fixed price 2 course meal. So I started with vegetable soup, this was served with 2 pieces of dry brown bread, no sign of any butter, soup was ok bread as described. For main I had the Chicken Caesar salad, this was served with bread croutons, just bits of bread chopped up! A new one on me, I complained and was sent some cooked ones, this is so basic for a 4 restaurant I was actually shocked, just laziness in the kitchen, probably to busy watching England losing on iPads to pay proper attention to what they were serving! The salad itself was quiet tasty. Fine margins! 2 courses with a 175ml glass of house rose was just under £25.00, as a business traveller this for me was poor value. On checking in I was given a drink voucher, for a 175 ml glass of house wine, at the bar I asked for a rose, I then asked if I could pay the difference to get a 250 glass, this should have been around £2.00, I was charged a fiver for the extra 75 ml this priced the Pinot at £50 a bottle! Hardly good customer service! To be fair it was removed in the morning when checking out, but the whole dinner with the wine fiasco was underwhelming for a 4star establishment. It will definitely be the Royal Oak next time I stay here.
We decided to be seen in the hotel, instead of local pub to have more gigantic service. We had already booked. We immediately proceeded...but needed to wait 45 ' and ask to accelerate the procedures...After that, appetite and thoughts had lost...The children lived. ..we had more damaged ....
