Pizzeria - La Piazza

Returned here in September after last being here in 2012. I can honestly say the food is still great and the service too. This restaurant has an exterior and interior seating structure which is very rustic looking and very Austrian. Situated in the quiet town of Saalfelden is a great place for locals and tourists alike to visit. A great choice when driving through and needing a decent meal or if holidaying near by. The staff are really friendly and accommodating, plus service is quick. The salami [with added mushrooms] pizza is a highlight as is the tuna salad. Prices are very reasonable, especially for a person on a budget sharing is possible because the servings are big. Beers are great as is the wine. I highly recommend this place especially on a cold night.

We had a break with my kids and it was the only restaurant open at 3PM. Excellent surprise, real italian pizza and expresso, good price and very goos products. I recommend.

Arrived at 7.45pm and sat at a dirty table as this was the only one available for 6 people. Waiter showed his face after 30mins to take drinks order and hand out menus. At 55 mins drinks arrived and we were ready to leave. We were threatened with the police by the waiter. Luckily my good lady speaks fluent German, good to us, bad for waiter. Apparently the owner was on holiday. Did I mention apparently there were no clean table cloths, this is after he tried to clean the existing one by flicking the food off. We will also ignore all the dirty cutlery that was still on the table and dirty napkins. Once the head waiter appeared to calm matters we were told all ices, coffee and liquors would be free at the end of the meal. The starters arrived an hour and 20mins after arriving. In fairness, the garlic soup was nice. The 5 main courses then arrived, unfortunately there was 6 of us. We had to go in to the bar area and get the missing main course. If anyone remembers Geoffrey Palmer cooking his own sausages in Faulty Towers, this was close. The food was decidedly average. So, onto the free ices, coffee and liquors. They would have been better if our beloved waiter hadn't dropped half of them allover the table (on the miraculously found table cloth) as he served them. More were brought. Goes without question that the bill was wrong and there was an item on there that was not ordered. There's other places in the area, seek them out! I won't be going back there, and I live in the area part of the year!

As an inhabitant of Saalfelden I was keen to take my family out to a local restaurant.We arrived at 1945.......during the next 55 minutes we looked at the dirty table and plates in front of us. The waiter eventually came to us and took drink and food orders ( by that time we were thinking about going...)Waiter returned and decided that because he could flick the dirty food from the last customer off the table!,() he would remove the tablecloths.Waiter returns with drinks and no tablecloths! "Erm....we've run out." I explained that it wasnt acceptable to a) wait nearly 1 hour for drinks b) sit at a dirty table c) to run out of tablecloths.At that point we were ready to leave. We hadn't drunk anything or touched any food. The waiters response was that ' he would call the police as we'd ordered food" Erm....I dont think so! Cue me asking for Boss ( who was apparently on holiday) and subsequently head waiter.In conclusion - all desserts/coffee/liquers offered free.Doesnt make up for €113 bill ( no service in that - quel surprise!,) average food ( Oh...I had to go into restaurant 1he 10 mins after ordering and serve my father his meal myself!) and shoddy service.Won't be visiting here again.

Rather good pizzeria offering various dishes from salads to pizzas. Unfortunately, an environment too noisy. Be careful the dishes are very salty
