Mattmarkblick - Saas-Almagell

Ate lunch here on a v cold but sunny day. Restaurant warm welcoming. Staff helpful with menu in English. 3 of us had rostii which were delicious and v filling. Two came with ham egg and cheese, one with cheese tomatoes. All well cooked and would keep us going on slopes and walking for hours. Also had sandwich and small salad again all great. Salad selection was v good. Host thanked us for coming to his restaurant and we had tea coffee on the house. Good value and very well done.

We rode up their on bicycles from Saas al Meguel. The breathtaking views on the ride culminated to the most beautiful view from this restaurant terrace. Friendly service. Quick drinks served. Loads and loads of hiking paths from here. Place to park your car if that’s your choice of transport.

I can definitely recommend the Hotel Mattmarkblick. I received a very warm welcome. The room is very nicely decorated and everything is very neat and clean. I received very good advice on the nearest hiking destinations, bus connections and cable cars. The Hotel Mattmarkblick is very centrally located..... only 1 minute walk from the village square and the bus stop. Just opposite a small pond with beautiful trees that provide pleasant shade in summer... like a small park. The hotel is very informal, which I personally like very much. You start a conversation and just feel good! And last but not least, a word about the really great kitchen and the service. The food was very tasty and varied, I was a guest for 5 days and there was a new, great 5-course menu every day. The service was very friendly and always attentive...thanks to everyone in the team....and I hope to see you again...Tino Franke. Der Service war großartig, alle waren sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer war perfekt, das Restaurant ausgezeichnet. Es war sehr ruhig und der Ausblick auf die Bergwelt war wunderbar. Es gab auch tolle Wander-Vorschläge!
