For roughly the same price she gets a symphony of color and food, and I get salty beef, bland steamed vegetables, okay gyoza, and disappointing California rolls. Was filling though and despite the long line, the food came out quick. Go to Koja though. Get the braised pork bowl. Amazing salad, flavorful tender meat, a nice sauce that goes well with the rice, and fluffy Japanese rice instead of jasmine.
Classic staple when you go to a mall. This place is consistently good and the portions are huge for the value. The line is usually always long so I would suggest ordering online and picking it up if you're not in the mood to stand and wait. The only thing I don't really like is the sides (tempura, egg rolls, etc. but otherwise, love coming here!
I got the chicken bento box which came out to be a little over $12. It with came with chicken, rice, 4 sushis, 3 dumplings, and a lot of vegetables. They gave a decent amount of chicken, and the sushis were not bad. However the vegetables and dumplings were pretty bad, especially the vegetables. The vegetables were ridiculously unfresh and smelled awful. Almost half of the bento box consisted of the vegetables, so I basically had to throw away half of the meal. The chicken, rice, and sushi were pretty good though, so I did not complain that much about it at the time. However, I wouldn't even be writing this review if the following did not happen. I was a bit thirsty after I threw away my food, so I decided to go back to the booth to ask for a water cup. Most of the workers were on their phones or conversing with themselves by the time I got there. When I asked them for a water cup, the cashier (light skinned asian guy with round glasses) rudely responded that they were closed, shooed me away, and then went back on his phone. I felt really insulted because I just bought food from them 5 minutes before, and they denied me a water cup just because they were tired and preparing to close the shop. I had to go to the store next to them to ask for a water cup. The worker in the other shop was very nice about it and gave me a water cup with ice. He was also preparing to close his shop like the Sakura Japan workers. So until Sakura Japan workers change their attitudes toward their customers, my friends and I will be dining elsewhere whenever we come back to the food court. Sakura Japan workers need to act less arrogant and treat their customers respectfully.
This place is easily my top five food places i've ever had. and i've had a s ton of food. from all over the world. i don't know what it is about the number 1 (chicken and sub rice for noodles), but it single-handedly gives me a reason to live. genuinely, it is so good. if ur a s for teriyaki sauce you'll love it here. wish i could give all those chefs kisses on their cheeks, food so good
Excellent mall food. I usually opt for the chicken and rice but lately I've been obsessed with their noodles. They are so bouncy and chewy. My gripe is sometimes they can be inconsistent with the amount of chicken they give you, for example I bought two plates at once and one had more chicken than the other that it was noticeable. They are also a little skimpy on the steamed vegetables. Other than that I enjoy the teriyaki here. Be sure to ask for more sauce!
