We stopped here while we drove through the mountain. good value food, fast service. street stain. watch the world.
After we visited the foret des ecrivans, where we met the entire college (middle school) of st gervais, all 65 students on a trip, we fell into the small town, not really expected to find a restaurant, open on a Monday from the tourist season. this was, and we had a delicious meal in a pleasant environment. we were not after a gourmet experience, just a decent meal, and the house wine (red) was good.
The caffe in the center of the attractive village st gervais sur mare is well managed, clean and welcoming. horny and jennifer are helpful and efficient and bar prices are normal for the region. the restaurant serves traditional French cuisine and is very. worth, weine are local, good and cost-effective. worth a visit, but call them to their meal especially when they plan to go in the evening.
Visiting the village on business, five of us had lunch here. It's a typical, authentic French café restaurant that serves good food prepared by the owner's wife. We chose the two set menus and we were not disappointed. A caraf of the white house wine was...truly excellent! The owner/barman/waiter was friendly and helpful we were a bilingual group and he happily communicated in English and French.
