I try not to choose favorites, but if I did, Chez Louisette would be it. Kitchy to a fault, this is more of an experience than a meal. Constant Edith Pilaf homage live shows and Christmas decor, year-round. The beef bourguignon is excellent. Try the house wine, but go lightly, it's sneaky-good. The escargot is tasty too but if you only have room for one dish, it’s got to be the beef.
Great atmosphere and Interesting decor. Typical old French song and music and the singers were a treat. The Beef Bourguignon was excellent. Definitely worth the experience.
I was shopping with friends on a rainy Sunday morning at the Flea Market. I was drawn to this restaurant by the sounds of Louis Armstrong. He was singing When the Saints go Marching in . I just had to go and check it out. When I entered, the musicians smiled at me. There was a key board player and an accordion player. There were various singers taking turns at the mic. I met one lady who had been performing there since 1960. She kindly took a photo with me. The food was delicious. I absolutely enjoyed everything. The servers were nice. My friends thanked me for insisting that we have lunch. The place was filled with locals not tourists. It was packed and standing room only. Everyone sang and clapped to the music. It was great fun! We were so happy.
Are you reopening? Some of my favourite paris memories here! I return to Paris tomorrow
