My mum who doesn’t eat onion and garlic was told she could have a number of items only to be told after 45 mins they couldn’t make it. We were told to order something else, and that was not cooked even after an hour! Simple bhajia were not made. We complained and the short waitress said it was taking long because it was without onion and garlic what nonsense ! Eventually these bhajia came out no salt! We told the waitress to taste it and she agreed there was no salt. The main waitress who was running front of house was the only competent person there. She was clearly over stretched with no support. The kitchen is a shambles and processing tickets with incorrect priority with nobody expediting! Food was a mess! Chilli paneer was covered in tomato sauce it was sooo sweet more like gulag paneer than chilli! . Rajkot bites were lacking in salt and were also very sweet! Crispy bhajia were basically thinly sliced potatoes, deep fried with some chilli flakes lacking seasoning. Paneer burger was OK. I was put off completely when a neighbouring table pulled out a long hair from a vada pau. I draw the line at that. Lack of simple hygiene controls in the kitchen says a lot for the shambles going on behind the kitchen doors! I would advise people planning to go here to think twice. If you are doing takeaway god help you! If you are eating in god help you and make a reservation to go somewhere else afterwards, as you will likely be left hungry and fed up like we were . Improve food/service management need to show up and run the restaurant otherwise it will be game over very soon! Disappointed!
Incredible food! super friendly staff that was extremely satisfied with our vegan needs. filz really safe and clean in view of the current kovidclimate. I ordered in advance with their click and collect service, and eating was perfect for the collection. eating was incredibly recommended in any case the samosa pav, samosa chaat and the milkshakes! will soon be great again!
Many places boast to use Indian street food, but they either fail to reproduce the authentic taste or have too few options on their menu. So I was sceptical about this place, but I don't have to translate! they not only have a lot to serve that cover different regions on india, but they also taste good. I am not yet coming over a place that serves pau bhaji in london as I like it! the only person behind the theke was extremely patient and helpful, through all my asking about the menu. for those who are health conscious, the menu is quite hard on carbohydrates. I am a little disappointed at the chana batura. the chana was fantastic, but the batura was more poor than batura. that could not reproduce the soft sponge texture of batura. the restaurant was squeaky clean, which was fast during the lockdown and service. will definitely visit again to try the or street foods on the menu!
Truely urban, relaxed atmosphere. Classic chat place! liked the selection of masala chai, Bombay sandwich etc.. must try place!!
Delicious Gujarati vegetarian food and lovely service courtesy of Kartik! This has been our lock down treat, we love this place. Everything we have tried is delicious. It's great to get home cooked Gujarati food that is just like what my Gujarati friend used to cook for me when I was a student! Can't wait to be able to sit in the cafe again! The music's also excellent!
