Great atmosphere for a Sunday brunch. The decor is warm and authentic. They also make fresh tortillas and salsa. We were very impressed and wanted to come back... Another hidden jewel of San Jose!
For vegetarians, this place is not so great. The meat dishes are quite expensive and you pay this expensive price even if you get the food made vegetarian style. I ordered the burrito and it wasn't so great. The only shrimp on the plate was a small stem of Cilantro. It doesn't look like something you'd see in a photo. The interior of the burritos was filled with whole boiled potatoes with skin and rice. The guacamole is only in the middle, so if you start at the end of the burrito, you will not get any taste/taste. There is no sauce and barely cheese. Usually a regular vegetarian burrito has many beans, cheese and sauce. He had hardly any of it. I wouldn't recommend that. Too expensive for a vegetarian and not even so great. I finished taking it home and adding my own ingredients to taste better. I finally asked for a takeout box. It was a bit dusty or dirty, but I didn't care. When I came home, I realized there was a sticker with a name on the box. Staff recycle their boxes. You should give every brand new cleanliness box. The other people I talked to were good at eating, so maybe other things on the menu are better, but I wouldn't want to go back there. Also the restaurant was completely empty during lunchtime, except my group. I saw a dead place where nobody goes.
The food is good. The drinks are terribly overpriced it's not what I would call a four or five star restaurant. Last time I was there I ended up having to leave because my food wasn't ready and it was a Saturday it isn't what it used to be
I used to love this place, but then they started cutting costs and that compromised the quality of their food. Their tacos used to be my absolute favorite. Three tacos with handmade, thick corn tortillas...some of the best I've had. Then they reduced them to two tacos for the same dish. Eventually they substituted the tortillas for thin, plain, regular flour tortillas. My favorite tacos are now boring and unimpressive.
