Milq Tea Lounge - San Jose

Absolutely the best boba in San Jose! Sometimes my girlfriend and I go out of our way to get our drinks from here. My favorite is Pandora : They used to have an awesome interior with glowing tables with bubbles, but since COVID started, it slowly transitioned to primarily take out. Hope they recover soon! Great boba tea!

I tried the Oreo Fresh Milk at this restaurant and it was delicious. I made the mistake of not shaking it first, so it ended up tasting like straight syrup. Make sure to shake it before drinking to get the full flavor. The boba pearls in the drink were perfectly chewy.

I tried the avocado smoothie and it was delicious! I also got the Milq and Cookies milk tea for my daughter. She enjoyed it, but mentioned that it left a greasy residue in her mouth from one of the toppings. Other than that, everything was great!

I did not feel welcomed at this restaurant. The worker did not greet me and seemed unsure about the drinks that I ordered. She had a high-class attitude and only rang up two of the three drinks I ordered before walking away. When I inquired about the missing drink, another worker said it was sold out. It would have been better if the first worker had informed me of this rather than leaving without a word. The atmosphere seemed exclusive and unwelcoming, leading to a lack of customers. I felt that the workers had a superiority complex, which made my experience uncomfortable. Despite being a first-time visitor from out of town, I did not feel valued as a customer. It is disappointing to see how poorly some Asians are treated by their own community. The emptiness of the restaurant on a Saturday speaks volumes about the reputation of the establishment among locals. In hindsight, I should have left as soon as I realized I was not being greeted and the place appeared deserted. The locals knew something that I did not.

My friends and I come to San Jose to visit and so far this is our favorite bbt place. We first order it because it's near our Airbnb but we really enjoy the drinks there, especially the rose tea and Tahoe drink. It's a little sweet (for me, not my friend) but you can always tell them to adjust the sweetness. Definitely will order again when we come back to visit.
