Contribuisci feedbackWe went to this restaurant hesitant after reading all the reviews. How could a new restaurant in san juan be #1 after just opening? Apparently, our initial instincts were right. Upon arriving, almost nobody ushered us to the table that we reserved 20 minutes earlier. We just assumed that the empty table was for us considering that the place was almost full. It took awhile before anyone came to our table to give us the menu. Eventually, it came in the form of an android tablet (???). I know that it's "cool" to be using that but the outlet should have more. It's just so impractical ordering having to shift from page to page when you want to order 4 or 5 dishes. The clincher was when a server finally came to our table, he almost knew nothing about the food. I ordered the cheese kaldereta from him and asked what else were the best sellers and he recommended the cheese kaldereta again. I told him that we had ordered that already and continued to ask what else was good. Everything he recommended were all beef items?????? It ended with us just walking out and not trying the restaurant. In fairness, the place was nice and had a character of its own but the music was loud & horrible. The music made you feel like you were in a beer house in Sta. Mesa. It's ok to for the outlet to find ways for it to be ranked #1 resto in San Juan in Tripadvisor but at the very least, make sure that it's consistent with the actual experience. We did not try the food as the introductory experience made us lose our appetite. Food was pricey in comparison to other good Filipino restaurants. Unfortunately, I will never know whether the food tastes good or not as I will never go to this restaurant again.
What an AMAZING experience! My friend told me about this restaurant. She said that the food here is great and the ambiance is so beautiful. And she was right! I came here during a Saturday and boy were they packed! I even saw Kim Henares! I would recommend their Chessy Beef Kaldereta, Adobong Hito with Gata and their Tuyonesca! My family and I had a great time and I would definitely be back!
Place is cozy with nice ambiance, parking is a bit of a problem. We went there for Father's Day Dinner and they were serving buffet. All I can say is price is very reasonable, Spanish bread is very good and the turon (fried banana fritters) is good and the red ice tea. Food is average, nothing much of specialty.
I had a great time dining at Antojos! You will be blown away by the ambiance as soon as you step in the 2 big wooden doors that greet you as you enter. I think the golden buddah is a nice touch. I think it's a nod to the chinese community that lives in the san juan area. We were greeted by their staff, they were dressed in garbs from a time long past. They were very friendly and accommodating. Their Menu is in an Android tablet ( how cool is that???). Their Food is great as well! The Cheesy Beef Kaldereta is the on that stood out amongst the other dishes that we ordered! I cant wait to come back try out their new dishes the next time i come visit.
The place looks very interesting, stone-walled old house with high ceiling. Chandeliers were appropriate to create the correcting of time past. The tables were relatively big (not your standard 4-sweater tables). We called for reservations and everything went very smoothly. The guard outside was very helpful with regards to parking. We were greeted at the entrance and seated immediately. Thinking old world ambience, we were surprised when we were handed tablets were their menu was loaded. The waiter was very knowledgeable with regards to their menu and gives suggestions regarding the dishes. The service was good and the dishes were served timely enough. We had pork sisig which was very good and crunchy. It is a good companion with your beer, as mentioned in their menu. The cheesy beef kaldereta is worth trying, it offers a different twist from your standard everyday kaldereta. The Antojo's chicken BBQ is a little on the sweet side. Over-all, it was a very good dining experience and will definitely consider going back to try their other dishes.
