It was tender, but lacked flavor. The sauces did not complement the dish at all. The lamb was served cold and clammy in the center, which was quite unpleasant. The Caesar salad was oddly sweet. After just one bite, I stopped eating dinner and decided to take out the lamb. I plan to shred it, toast it in a pan with garlic and herbs to make it more enjoyable.
This charming Greek restaurant is tucked away in the back streets of San Juan. The food is delicious, especially the lamb which stands out compared to other restaurants. It is moist and flavorful without the typical aftertaste. The side dishes are tasty with plenty of options to choose from. The salads are fresh and plentiful, with homemade dressings. A pleasant surprise was the well-marinated pork chops, not typically expected in a Greek restaurant. The prices are surprisingly affordable. I highly recommend this place.
If we had more time, we would have chosen a different restaurant after the disappointing first impression we received. The security personnel and parking attendant showed no interest in helping us park, leading to confusion and frustration. The food server seemed distracted and unattentive, forcing us to call for his attention multiple times. Despite the great taste of the food, the presentation was lacking, prompting me to rearrange it for a better photo. When we asked for the bill and for our leftover food to be wrapped, we were disappointed to find that they charged extra for additional gravy, which seemed unfair. Overall, the good food was not enough to make up for the lackluster service and experience. The only smiles we saw were from another couple and the waitress as we left, leaving us feeling discouraged by the whole ordeal.
It's another hole in the wall type of restaurant. As far as food is concerned, it's a mixed bag: some dishes are really good (squid, salad), but others are rather disappointing (eg: tsatsiki, humus, meat balls). It would help to have native Greek staff around.
For the location of this branch, it was easy to find but parking space is a bit small plus it's basically beside a busy 2-way road. Although when we came in, there were not many customers yet so the servers we're attentive. For the food, we ordered fig arugula salad (sweet because of the figs), Greek Caesar salad, Lamb gyros, Salmon in Avgolemono sauce, and two orders of Roast lamb (the serving was HUGE). The good: our total bill was only around 3,700 which i think is quite cheap The not-so-good: the taste of the food was just...meh. Although we're all very full. So if you're looking for a place to chill with family/friends under budget, I think this is a good place, casual and not so heavy on the wallet.
