Contribuisci feedbackAfter a long day visiting rum distilleries on vacation, we stopped by this restaurant in search of something satisfyingly greasy. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the restaurant also doubles as an art gallery, with colorful paintings adorning the walls. The menu, available in both English and Spanish, was extensive. Opting for something unfamiliar, I ordered alcapurrias while my friends chose various Puerto Rican dishes. Everything we tried was delicious. The owner took the time to explain the dishes to us, including the fact that the hot sauce and other ingredients were locally made. The menu caters mainly to meat eaters, with dishes like v. carne packed with intense flavors that paired perfectly with rice. A must-try is the garlic-infused beans. After sampling five different dishes, we were all very pleased, especially after a day of drinking. This restaurant is a great choice for meat lovers looking for flavorful dishes. I used to love this place but the quality control has been consistently failing. There have been times where the food tastes fermented, plastic lids inside other non corresponding foam containers, and worst of all I found an acrylic nail in one of the empanadas. I honestly cannot eat here without getting nauseous. Hate to say that I don’t recommend this place to anyone.
The food was good. I had a pizza empanada , whilst the flavor was good I felt like it could have been more stuffed than it was. I also had what was recommended as being ordered the most, can’t recall the name, but I def enjoyed the flavors of it. The restaurant had a lot of things to choose from, mostly burgers and sandwiches, but I wanted to try the most cultural thing on the menu! I would def eat here again.
I absolutely adored the pastel and rellenos de papa that I sampled at this restaurant! I also decided to try the BBQ chicken sandwich, even though I was a bit worried it would be spicy because it was described online as having a "spicy batter." Luckily, it was not spicy at all and was incredibly tasty. I highly recommend trying some of their traditional dishes - you won't regret it, especially since they're vegan-friendly!
We went here about 4 times during our trip! They have all puertorican cuisine in vegan versions, but the menu is super expansive. Those puertoricans that are vegan: try the rellenos de papa! One for the ages
