Hilton Garden Inn San Mateo

The hotel is newly opened after being closed during the pandemic. It was very quiet still and didn't seem there were a lot of hotel guests. It was clean and the bathrooms for the king rooms now have full showers instead of tubs and that was very nice. It was a very pleasant stay.

The hotel is clean and the bedding is very comfortable. Lobby area is very nice.

I was a day early to my son and his friend in sfo (thanks to nakedby and I live almost 4 hours away so I needed a place to stay. the personal was so nice. they gave me a toothbrush and toothpaste, because I had nothing with me. I've never been to a hilton garden inn that I didn't like.

The worst customer service. late evening and there is a mix that will cancel my reservation instead of giving us the available room for our reservation price, they wanted to recharge us more! ends up looking for a room for $40 less than our reservation price on the beautiful crowne plaza. you could really learn some excellent customer service skills from them!

Decent hotel for a 2 night business trip. Breakfast buffet is not included but has very good offerings of cold and hot food/drink items, but liked especially with the made to order chef section. Reminder to self to bring a bathing suit next time!
