The rice had a burnt taste, and the shrimp and pork were disappointing. The quality of this place has really declined. When I called to place my order, I was yelled at several times while trying to go over the side items. To receive such poorly prepared food afterward felt like a slap in the face.
I ordered the Dinner Combo #1 along with a side of cream cheese crab puffs. The crab puffs were fantastic and came with a duo of dipping sauces—sweet and sour, as well as hot mustard. The pork fried rice was excellent, and I really enjoyed the Egg Foo Young, which I had never tried before. The crunchy noodles in the Chow Mein caught me off guard since I usually only use them for salads, but I ended up liking the dish a lot. Next time I visit, I’ll probably get the crab puffs again and try something new.
I normally have great food here. It's always been my family's go-to spot for Chinese food. I had the Kung Pao Beef, awful. Dry, chewy, tough, and just overall tasted old. I also had pork fried rice, again very dry and old tasting. Egg flower soup... whathappen here??? SOOOO bland. Just egg flavored hot water. Not the yummy broth I'm used to. And last... the shrimp egg roll. They're using a different wrap than before. Let's just say... mush. NO crunch whatsoever. Overall, a very disappointing visit.Specially considering it's not cheap to eat out with a family of 4.
This was my first visit to the restaurant, and overall, I enjoyed the great atmosphere and excellent service. The food was satisfactory, though nothing extraordinary. Would I come back? Absolutely!
There are two Chinese restaurants in Sandy, excluding the Panda Express chain. After having a disappointing experience at Double Dragon a few years ago, I’ve since opted for the other restaurant, which has consistently offered excellent food. However, I decided to give Double Dragon another chance today, thinking that things might have improved. Unfortunately, they haven’t. The fried rice was uninspired and soggy, the noodles were limp and sticky, and the wonton soup featured wontons that resembled tiny shriveled balls in lukewarm, salty broth. The sweet and sour chicken felt more like deep-fried crunchy chicken feet swimming in a sweet, sticky, vinegary sauce. Because of this, I will be returning to Sandy's other authentic Chinese restaurant for takeout. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
