I was a week in the hotel solar do bom jesus. everything was perfect. eating was great, half board menu with starter, main course (3 different options daily) and dessert. her poncha is a must. friendly and attentive staff.
I stayed one night in the hotel, and even if the chef was not present, josé antónio camacho, who works in the restaurant, made me a delicious pasta dish. both he and the girl who worked there were very friendly and super attentive. in the evening. I had a wonderful steak court, not on the menu, but recommended and made by josè. everything I can say is wonderful.
While I stay in this hotel, I decided not to go out and dine a few blocks down in the small town. I'm glad I did it! the slightly roasted version of the 'brot and garlic butter' (locally known as bolo do caco) was again very good....I ordered the roasted sardines pleasantly surprised! four of them together with steamed vegetables, so fresh, loved it! the red wine through the glass (I am alone on my way, so I didn't want to waste the order of a whole bottle) was a slimy: it's not so great in the way, but also here I was surprised: very nice!
