This is due to the fact that the process for producing white or brown chocolate from 100% chocolate is more involved. However, they explain this process very well so that the entire experience is still very complete. they also get to try as much as they want in every phase and keep both chocolate for the milk and the bar. it was super interesting and I would recommend it to anyone who likes cacao.
Very recommended, we made the 2 hours tour and it was a very unusual and educational thing to do. we had our 1 year old baby with us and the guide really got him in the process of roasting, cool and peeling the bons with his small cooking hat and apron! he loved it! we have learned a lot about the processing of cacao and have made our own delicious chocolate bar home (mine was dark chocolate with coffee and cocosnus and it was sooo good). this is a place they can easily miss when they go by, but it is really worth stopping for the tour!
My family took the 2 hours. I learned a lot about the history of chocolate and how it is done. we created kakao in many forms that originate from different cultures. my family and I had an explosion. I ate so much chocolate that was a sensory joy. chocolate is not easy to make from hand!
We did the full chocolate experience. Our guide Raudy did an excellent job and is a super nice guy! The expression from the bean to the bar is a bit ambiguous, what they really do is let you prepare 100%-chocolate suitable for chocolate milk and then give you liquid chocolate that is already made with which you can prepare the bar. One step is thus skipped. This is due to the fact that the process to make white or brown chocolate from 100%-chocolate is more involved. However they explain that process very well, so the whole experience is still very complete. Also you get to taste as much as you want at every stage and get to keep both the chocolate for the milk as well as the bar. It was super interesting and I 'd recommend it to anyone who likes cacao.
Highly recommended we did the 2 hour tour and it was a very unusual and educational thing to do. We had our 1 year old baby with us and the guide really got him engaged in the process of roasting, cooling, and peeling the beans with his little chef hat and apron! He loved it! We learned a great deal about the processing of cacao and ended up making our own delicious chocolate bars to take home (mine was dark chocolate with coffee and coconut and it was sooooo good). This is a place you could easily miss when you walk by but it is really worthwhile to stop in for the tour!
