Having looked down on this culinary import with a very French disdain for decades, they were slow...to offer it and have been even slower in working out how to do them. They can't. Well, this place just served me the best (by miles) burger I've ever had in France. Not the best I've ever had in my life mind you, (That honour goes to the now defunct Roe's Burger House in sunny Dungiven, NornIreland) but easily the best in France. It was excellent. And the chips! Such a joy. I asked for my chips (as I sometimes, rather annoyingly, do) to be cooked well done. How many times, in France, have you been served barely warm, anemic-looking lazy chips? These are done by chefs who neither love nor know their jobs. So anyway, when I ask for well-done chips they frequently come out dark brown, carbonised things which are almost as bad. Well, this guy did them perfectly. Exact colour, crunchy to the very last chip (I finished the wife's as well) and fluffy yet creamy insides. They were perhaps the best chips I've had. In any country. Ever. Proper, modern menus. Excellent choice of wines (for this type of restaurant). Good service. After all the compliments I was throwing the chef came out to see us. Thoroughly nice chap. Of course, after I'd met the man himself, it all became clear... A faultless wee restaurant.
We gave up the chance. The bistro was full, but the beautiful lady here put us in. The whole staff was nice and the food was perfect for them. The gallets were a cut over usual and there were other bistro type meals to choose. I had a nice salad. The ice and pancake puddings were very good. We saw people eat fish and meat dishes as well as good burgers, including vegetarian. Can't recommend enough.
We liked the excellent gallets and the house made chocolate. The staff was friendly. Make sure to book as the place is not too big and always full.
Very good. Perfect godets and crepes. Friendly service. We eat outside under the umbrellas. Some pass traffic, but overall quite calm. Recommended Galette Judikael (corner, cream... or Morvan (cheese, honey, walnuts). Desserts are brilliant. Don't hesitate to ask for a galette instead of asking for a...Krepp for your dessert.
Habitée des lieux à chaque passage à Penvins.Accueil très agréable par le couple de propriétaires. Un cadre très joli et une nourriture excellente.Testez la crêpe salée "becudo" qui est à tomber !
