We have usually been there, but johannes dallhammer served as a cook and waiter and we were the only guests or one of only a few guests. in the kitchen and dining room, and the things can be a bit hectic, as the kitchen is quite small. a fried lunz, johannes, I am told, educated and worked as a cook in the Swiss and other parts of Europe before I returned to lunz. we usually ask johannes what's good at this day, he speaks a little English, and above all he recommends the fish and especially the trout (forelle). Normally, this is a filet, but sometimes it offers a lot of work. we have never been disappointed. it is simply prepared, pan roasted with a sweet and a precious stone salad. the other fish dishes are also very good. at our last visit we also tried a special dish of chicken breast wrapped in speck and filled with spinach, and it was also delicious, and not overcooked. another great product we usually get is the beard soup. beard is a wild green, in which usually only in the early spring, which tastes like a cross between garlic and chunky. the Hungarian call it bears (medvehagyma). the best is how johannes takes their order and then disappears into the kitchen. everything is ready to order, and while they wait, they hear the tangs of pots, the beats of a mixer and other interesting sounds, as johannes his magic works alone. the meals that arrive at the table are fantastic. simple food, very well prepared and very fresh. to dessert one could taste the imperial smarrn (with or without rust), which is quite good and comes in small and large sizes (small enough for two). but don't be surprised when they say that this is not possible, because the kitchen is quite small and sometimes there is no place on the heart! in this case, they go for the mohr in hemd, a traditional Austrian sweets made from a chocolate cake, shaped like a small gugelhup and some fruits and saw and very satisfying. we are always looking forward to our visits to lunz am see, and we always make a point to feed as often as possible in the almgasthaus rehberg as we are there. yes, there are other good places to eat in lunz like the sea terrace and the zellerhof, and while eating is certainly good, these are much bigger and offer a less personal experience.
This is a good restaurant to visit, it serves traditional Austrian dishes that are very tasty. the waitresses are dressed in dirt and the service is good.
Guter Service.
