Guadalajara Mexican - Schulenburg

This Mexican restaurant, operated by a friendly family, is fantastic. The staff is attentive and welcoming. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I ordered the Tilapia lunch special and my husband got the fajita lunch, both were excellent. We will definitely be returning!

Great homemade salsa and fresh chips. Enchilada (beef) was fresh and very tasty (worth the wait). Lunch buffet was also good, lettuce crispy, good cheese enchilidas.

While taking the Painted Churches tour in Schulenburg, we had the misfortune to eat at this restaurant. We got shrimp soup and shrimp platter. Didn't eat the soup: way too spicy and pretty much tasteless. Shrimp platter: shrimp were way too dry. Lettuce and tomatoes were watery. Everything, including chips and salsa, was pretty much tasteless with plenty of hot sauce added so you won't realize what you just swallowed. Rice served as a side w/the soup was ok. Never got piña colada we ordered, but it was ok. I am sure it would taste the same as the rest of the food. I guess this restaurant takes advantage of the fact that there is no competition.

Great food. Great prices. Great service. Looking forward to my next trip back down to south texas!

I had a wonderful experience at this cozy, family-run restaurant. The staff was very welcoming and the food was delicious, especially the fajitas. Our waiter was attentive and bid us farewell as we left, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely return to this fantastic restaurant.
