Was there last night. They changed the fries from crinkle cut to steak style fries. Like crinkle better.
This is where the locals eat! For an authentic, northeastern Pennsylvania experience, you need to visit here. The roast beef and gravy meals are the staple menu items this restaurant is known for. I had their Glider Sandwich, with fries and a side of gravy it does not disappoint! I used the gravy as an aus jus which really boosted the flavor. The front doors open to a 1940 's style dining car, complete with booths and barstool seating along the counter. There are three other dining areas attached off the side. The portions are generous and the price is relatively inexpensive for what you get, in my opinion. No alcohol is served, but there are plenty of soft drink, juice, milk or coffee options.Mobility challenged patrons should enter from the back of the diner for a roll in entry. Wheelchair accessibility: Enter through the back door.
This classic diner from 1948 has an ambience of the steam era of railroading, it has a great staff, great food, and the area is excellent. this place is a must-go if you are on a roadtrip or you're headed to steamtown
