The staff is super friendly and the portions are always large and filling, and of course tasty! I always get the chicken suqar with spaghetti, and add the green hot sauce on top.Really delicious food and friendly atmosphere, will keep coming here for sure!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kilimanjaro Restaurant, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff at Kilimanjaro Restaurant were incredibly courteous, respectful, and attentive throughout my entire visit.I decided to try the goat meat and rice, and I am so glad I did. The flavors were absolutely phenomenal. The goat meat was tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection. The rice complemented the dish perfectly, adding a delightful texture and subtle aroma. It was clear that the chef paid great attention to detail in creating this dish, and it truly exceeded my expectations. To complete my meal, I ordered the Somali tea, and I must say, it was a real treat. The tea had a unique blend of spices that created a soothing and refreshing taste. It was the perfect accompaniment to the rich flavors of the goat meat and rice.Overall, my experience at Kilimanjaro Restaurant was nothing short of excellent. The combination of welcoming and courteous staff, along with the outstanding flavors of the goat meat and rice, made for a truly memorable dining experience. I highly recommend Kilimanjaro Restaurant to anyone looking to indulge in authentic cuisine and impeccable service.
No dine-in before 7:30 and the food wasn't very fresh/healthy/vegetarian-friendly, but good service and interesting cuisine.
Not sure what genre of food afro Asian is, but it's darn good. Nothing really Asian about it besides maybe Indian spices. Also not my first time eating east African dishes. They are often heavier on the carbs than most Asian or African restaraunts that I visit. From what I can tell this is an African owned ran restaraunt. The workers here have Some of the best vibes I've experienced in an African restaraunt. Top 3 or 5 experience.I orded the chicken Kat kati and the spicy beef ugali. Absolutely amazing. They were out of the normal bitter bread for the kati, but they improvised and used a pita style bread instead. It wad good, but not as good as the regular kati. The beef ugali was amazing and very spicy. You almost have to mix everything it comes with to mask some of the spice. I ended up taking the rest home and remaking it with eggs for breakfast. Yes yes yes it was amazing for breakfast the next day. Maybe even better as a breakfast to be honest.Giving these guys only 4 stars was not easy for me since the service was spot on and the food was also spot on. Don't expect anything fancy while dining in. The actual dine in experience is what made me lower the score. The inside needs so more love and attention. The water, I couldn't even bring myself to pour a glass to drink as it was in a plastic pitcher that was almost empty and had been sitting there for who knows how long. Very warm water. Yuck. The food was so good and priced so right I'm almost tempted to ignore the dine in aspect and give them a 5 since I know I've given places a 5 even with worse interiors. But those places also had billiards and etc so it's hard to lower a dive bar looking spot for being a dive bar. This place is not a dice bar. Very bright and no games, but they did have the TV on with nba games playing.Vegetarian options: See menu. Also You don't have to get meat in your dish.
This is as hole in the wall as it gets. Bit of a language barrier, tiny, and parking tough. But the lamb shank was dead on with great spices. Very reasonably priced. Entrees include soup rice salad for $17. Be aware they have heartburn with byob not sure why. I asked b4 we went but still got a admonishment.? Drank the open bottle lol.
