Wow, the most authentic southern fried chicken and rice and gravy in the area! Excited to try catfish and grits.

I was craving some good soul food for a couple of months. I finally got there early enough to order.I ordered two meat plate with three sides. I also got some peach cobbler and banana pudding.Everything was so good it took me back to my granny 's house on the holidays. I got the idis after eating ?.This will be my new spot.I wish someone could help them fix up the physical restaurant. I would imagine if they did they would stay packed everyday. I know my friends and family would be in line for a table.Don 't forget your slap yo mamma punch.

Every item ordered was truly delicious (minus one half star because my preferred style of pecan pie is pecans throughout the gel, and Soul 's style is pecans atop the gel. I received collards instead of hush-puppies, which was disappointing as collards are typically prepared with pork, which I do not eat, and I had prepared some kale at home and didn 't need to double-up on dark greens particularly. Still, my friend ate the greens and proclaimed them very tasty, just not what I ordered. Chicken was equal rations of wings and drumettes and I always prefer wings. The second star was lost owing to an assumption on my part that a chicken meal would include breast thigh and this meal included neither. Still, the chicken was exceptionally delicious, and if the description had included the omission, expectations would have been managed and the half-star would have remained intact.

The chicken did not taste very good. It had a distinct bird-like flavor. However, the hush puppies and fries were delicious.

I don't know where these people are from but you ain't from the south with dry, tasteless cornbread. Dry tasteless red beans and rice. Banana pudding that is instant pudding with 3-4 wafers. The catfish wasn't bad and saved my stomach from tasteless food and Mac and cheese was okay. Oh yeah yams ? plantains not bad actually were good. You have no idea what soul means. I wish I could have rated you better but I can not.
