All-in-all, an excellent bakery. the large part is the lack of vegan options. the cookies and a bagel with hummus are the only things you can really eat when you get eaten.
Stopped in here for a bagel — which is hard to find in seattle. anyway, much better bagels than blazing bagels which gets all the hype. the service was friendly and fast, there is currently no inside seating (which is fine), but the baked goods all looked pretty tasty to go. coffee is caffe vita, not great but OK. i had the sesame bagel with cream cheese and the thing was beautiful (see photo). i’m not a huge dead head, but i appreciate the pun and would probably go back here. very accessible (with parking) and unpretentious.
Grateful Bread is definitely a place with its own character and charm. Old school and even a bit funky decor, neighborhood atmosphere, friendly service. The food offering is wide and various. They have everything from bread to bagels to cookies and pastries, of which I only had the butter croissant. It's on the flaky side and I really like its salty (rather than sweet) flavor. On the other hand, the layers are thicker than usual and overall it needs a little bit more air.
Amazing local bakery. Great coffee, friendly service, and of course the yummiest bakery in NE Seattle. Call the day ahead or early morning if you want challah. Their soups and quiches make super yummy lunch too. The veggie quiche is my favorite. Enjoy!
Tasty bagels. Friendly, quick service. Covid safe. Beautiful prints for sale. What’s not to love!
