Lola is a nice little cafe in sleepy Seddon and has a great assortment of indoor and brightly coloured umbrella laden outdoor tables.
We had dinner here to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. The staff were fantastic - friendly, attentive and knew the menu well. For a suburban restaurant, Copper Pot is at the upper end of the scale. Dinner for 3 - two courses plus a bottle of wine was $330. I'm just not sure that the suburb of Seddon is ready to pay these prices. As per the title of my review, perhaps it's just not my type of food. I am a very clean eater and the food was very rich. An example is with the sides - no salad or basic vegetables available. I ate the prawns for main and they were delicious. I ate the clams for starter and they were over cooked and chewy. Wine list is also expensive with the cheapest pinot noir being $75. We cjose the $95 bottle which was lovely. The food was tasty and well presented but I left thinking that it was a restaurant that didn't know what it was in that the cuisine style is quite confused.
Had a beautiful birthday dinner there. Recommended by the friendly and helpful staff to have the "Trip around the world"..who needs to travel? Amazing food-super friendly and helpful staff and a wine list to savour
What a great night out! Have been wanting to pay the Copper Pot a visit for a while now. On a very cold and wet Melbourne winter Saturday night we had booked for 6.30 into a restaurant just next door to the Copper Pot to enjoy a hearty pasta. However after 20 mins of waiting for drinks service - not even water was brought to the table - we walked out and stepped through the doors of the Copper Pot next door.Sarah greeted us at the door with a lovely welcoming smile and she was so accommodating, we were lucky as a table was available till 8.30 which suited us. This was now 7 p.m.Any way the whole night was faultless, the food the flavours were awesome. We started with tasty, fresh sourdough bread and butter and without asking, Sarah brought to the table some olive oil to dip and consume the last of the bread. Our meals? Our dinner guest is a vegetarian who started with the Brussel sprouts..."the best I've ever had", then the mushroom cannelloni, finishing with the creme brulee with gorgeous crusty toffee topping - lovely! One satisfied customer. My partner had the Pommes frites, Wagyu beef rags with pappardelle no desert. Satisfied customer N0 2.I started with some oysters that were shared with my partner. Then the Wild Kingfish and what a flavour sensation it was with the citrus emulsion. I couldn't leave any of the emulsion on the plate and tried to mop it up slowly on my fork. Again Sarah came to the rescue with a spoon for the struggling patron - no prompting again, she read my mind. I then had the Bass Straight octopus so tender and finished with a rich chocolate mousse all excellent. The wine list was interesting varied and plenty of choice to match with the various dishes. I loved the white wine a Cabinet, German I think, and it was delicate/elegant dry but such good fruit characteristics with great length which went great with the Kingfish. Sated diner N0 3.So we started the night with disappointing poor customer service from next door to ending the night on a very pleasant high to enjoy great quality customer service, food and lovely warm atmosphere that Ashley has created with his fine team at the Copper Pot. Will be looking forward to my next visit.Do yourself a flavour - not misspelled.TheosTruthFoodie - The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing but The Truth.
