Bay View Cafe - Sedgemoor

Wonderful experience dining at this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I highly recommend trying their signature dish, it was truly amazing. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a special night out. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Polite but not particularly friendly. Part of our order was a fried breakfast and we were not allowed to swap something out of it for something else. The two fried breakfast came to £18 . After that we had 3 cokes a coffee and 2 bacon rolls Our bill came to over £42!! On top of that you have to pay for your own sauces at 10p each . The breakfast wasn 't even that good value either When questioned the person who brought the food out said "I don 't set the prices "and then walked off . Poor service and poor value for money.

I had a great time at this restaurant. I ordered a jacket potato with tuna mayo and salad, along with a pot of tea. The tea came with a large pot of hot water. It was a nice spot to sit and relax while watching the world go by.

I went for a walk on the beach in Burnham on Sea. I was allowed to take my dog inside the Bay View Café which was great as it was starting to get cold. I waited in line, ordered my mug of tea, waited to pay and was told it was a minimum £4 spend on cards ! They called the owner over and she was quite aggressive from the off. I said I didn’t have any money on me as walking my dog. She said again min spend was £4, so I said I’ll have to leave my tea ! I believe the card companies are not allowed to set a minimum spend on a contract. I explained that the fee on £1 would be exactly the same as £4. 1% or whatever the fee is on £1 would be the same as 1% of £4, she got confused, therefore she’s not missing out. The 3 people behind me also had to leave their drinks and leave. She shouted out as we left. She’s missing so much trade firstly with her attitude and then with her rules. Am I wrong ?

We regularly visit this lovely cafe with fantastic sea front views. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Staff are always pleasant and service is speedy despite it getting very busy during the summer months. I just don’t recognise the bad reviews.
