The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, reminiscent of a home kitchen. The decor is simple and clean, with counter bar seating and tables available. Guests can enjoy reading the daily newspaper while waiting for their meal. The menu features typical breakfast and lunch items, with a homemade touch. The service is excellent, with efficient and friendly staff. The portions are generous and special orders are easily accommodated. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Street parking is convenient. Breakfast is highly recommended, but lunch is also good. The restaurant is child-friendly and open from 7am to 1:30pm Saturday to Thursday, and 6:30am to 6:30pm on Friday.
Friday is all you can eat fish and it's good! Debbie's is not the least fancy, it's more a hole in the wall sort of place. In the morning the outside is filled with pickup trucks as all the construction guys stop for breakfast. You...want good dinner food this is the place. My daughter said their hamburgers were very good when she stopped in this summer.
I visited this restaurant after almost 50 years and was surprised to see that it still had the same familiar decor, with the same bar stools, tables, and even some of the old paintings and signs on the walls. My wife and I decided to have breakfast there, as the restaurant closes in the afternoon for some reason. They offered a typical selection of small, medium, and large breakfast options with a choice of meats. My wife opted for a medium breakfast while I ordered a cheese omelette with cheddar, though I felt that the extra dollar for the cheese wasn't worth it. The breakfast came with two pieces of toast, coffee, and a choice of hash browns or home fries. I was happy with my decision to choose hash browns, as it was lower in carbohydrates. My wife couldn't finish her medium breakfast. One suggestion I have is for the staff to be more proactive in asking if customers would like more coffee. Overall, it was a typical small town breakfast experience that was quite affordable - our meal cost us less than $20, including the tip.
Breakfast spots in Lakefield are constantly changing, but Debbie's has remained a favorite of ours, having visited about 15-20 times. The service is friendly, the food is tasty, and the prices are reasonable. It's a popular spot among locals and can get quite busy.
