L'Entr'act - Semur-En-Auxois

Beautiful salad and pizza, fresh ingredients. the wine and beer list seems to be somewhat limited or there was a language barrier.

Restaurant Entr’act is a great place run by beautiful people. although it describes itself as a restaurant, it is the type of place where you can simply have a beer. when we visited, we enjoyed beering with a first class pizza. I admit to being a pizza snob, so I'm glad that the pizze here are top class. we shared a large “special” pizza, which had a genuine Italian basic generously lit with merguez and pieces of curry chicken and it was absolutely excellent. the service was friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed our visit very much.

Booked table en terrasse a week in advance, and when we arrived we were told there was no table outside for us because we 're a brasserie with continual service, and we 're doing two sittings . We were given the option of the dark, noisy interior (not...great for my Mum who wears hearing aids) or waiting. Not so much as an apology or an offer of aperitifs while we waited for our table that we had booked. Had also been told there would be a set meal, even though it was a fête day, and of course there was no set meal. Food was very average. The best dish was the steak and chips. One fish dish came on a bed of leeks which was very short on leeks, and with a boring mound of rice. The other came on a mound of slightly dry pasta, no veg. The desserts were not homemade. A much better option in this area is Le Pari des Gourmets.

The food at L'Entract is fabulous. We ate here on more than one occasion as a family and with a larger group. Each time the service was prompt and the food delicious. To be fair I have tried only the pizza. It was too good...to try anything else. The normale size pizza is large by North American standards. I found that I could easily share it with another person. I highly recommend the fondant au chocolat.
