Captain Dan's Seafood Patio Bar

We had a great table with a view of the water. I ordered an Asian salad. The waitress warned me they may be out of the dressing and I gave my 2nd choice. When it arrived it looked like a tossed salad- lettuce, 3 large pieces of red onion and a few small red peppers. I asked about the candied pecans. The waitress' response was- if they are not there they are out of it. I stare thinking this is not what I ordered or is it a meal. She finally offers to go check. She comes back to confirm they are out of the pecans. I let her know it is not much of a salad as is. She finally offers to get me something else to put on it. She made excuses that it was so busy the day before (not my problem) Communication could be much better between the kitchen and the wait staff! I should have sent it back but the menu choices are limited. If she apologized I may not have been as annoyed.

Nice restaurant on a wharf offering views of water on both sides. Nice ocean side breeze inside. Food was good and service was excellent.

We were so looking forward to a nice meal on a hot evening on a patio with a view of the water. So we chose Captain Dan's. When we arrived it wasn't too busy so not problem getting a table on the patio. Our server appeared not long after we were seated and took our drink order. So far, so good. Our drinks were delivered by someone other than our server who wasn't sure which table they belonged to. Small problem. Our server came back later to take our food order which arrived quite quickly and hot. It was from this point on that things went down hill. Our server did not check on us for the longest time. And as a result did not take note that our drinks were low or in one case empty. After waiting for 15 - 20 minutes I was able to hail her down to order another glass of wine. Then I waited at least 10 - 15 minutes for it to arrive. Long story short we felt neglected the entire time we were there. I will say that the restaurant did fill up and we would have been perfectly ok if she had stopped by to say it was crazy busy and she would get back to us as soon as she could. But this did not happen. After a long wait for her to return which didn't happen we had to catch her attention to request our bill. And, I do want to speak to the food. We ordered seafood, it is Shediac, after all. We were very surprised and disappointed that they serve frozen fries. Really? Can't do fresh cut? I live in the area and have friends and family who visit throughout the summer. Unfortunately, based on this experience and the money we spent, I will not be recommending this restaurant to them.

The last 4 times we were there it was horrible. Poor service, bad cold food and way overpriced. Good location with great view but service is very slow.

Okay so let me start out by saying i ate here a few years ago and it was great NOT ANYMORE . My partner and I went for a late lunch on the patio. We got there and the hostess had really not a clue where to seat us ...i had spoken up and said "sit us on the patio anywhere will be fine" ..poor guy still seemed confused. It wasn't busy at all. We sat and waited for our waiter ..he got our drink orders , we looked at the menu and quickly realized not much to choose from. But I choose a grilled chicken sandwich and my boyfriend fish and chips. The waiter came back with our drinks he didn't bring me a straw which is horrible. We waited about 30 minutes for our food which isn't bad but it's not great for a non busy Sunday. Our food came and it wasn't good at all the fries were overcooked the sandwich was messy and the fish sucked. The waiter did not come back to check on us , he did not refill my drink and really didn't have any sort of personality. Finally after we were done and waited for about ten minutes he came back asked if we were done and took our stuff ...ten minutes later he comes back asks if we were ready for the bill and we said umm yes. He comes back with the bill and here's the real kicker!! My bill was 44 dollars he handed it to my boyfriend and I said nooo and took it , I grabbed 50 dollars out of my wallet and handed it to him and said "here" he then says "thanks have a great day" and walks away ....ummm yes I was gonna leave a tip (not a deserving one) but most waiters or waitresses ask if you want change back. My boyfriend looked at me and me at him and at this point we were so fed up we burst out laughing. It was a horrible experience sadly. I was so excited to go back and I pumped it up to my boyfriend . NEVER AGAIN!!!
