Camino Viejo Mexican - Sherman

This was my first experience dining in downtown Sherman, and we walked here from our AirBnB. We noticed a lot of locals picking up takeout, which seemed like a great indication of the food quality, and it definitely lived up to the expectation! I ordered carnita tacos, while my friend had the chicken tomatillo. Both dishes were excellent, and the sides were equally delicious. The food was a bit spicy for my taste, but I tend to be sensitive to heat. Just a heads up, it's a BYOB place. Enjoy!

Terrible experience. The enchilada sauce was overly sweet, the enchiladas were microwaved, and the soup was served cold. We didn’t even want to continue with the rest of our meal.

I'm going to be completely honest: we love this place and the food is excellent. However, tonight was a different experience. We arrived at 8:20, unaware that they close at 9:00 on a Friday night. From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed. The server asked if we wanted appetizers or if we were ready to order. It was clear we had to eat quickly. At 10 to 9, they turned off all the TVs and the music. My wife ordered the Quesadilla Los Cabos (see photos below), and when we received the check, I mentioned a price discrepancy. I was told that if there had been an error, they were sorry. However, we read the menu carefully, and it was clear and detailed; this was not a mistake. Our go-to spot will never feel the same again... I am fully disappointed.

The food is consistently delicious! The staff is very friendly and provides excellent service to their tables!
