Quick service and good quality fish & chips. They still batter all their own fish & potato scallop’s. Small chips & gravy is good value for lunch

The burgers are one of the best I've had in Newcastle. Its your typical takeaway menu, with a husband a wife running the place. Food is always of the same great quality. We have never been disappointed.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. They serve traditional fish and chips, done perfectly. The food is always fresh and cooked to order. The staff, who I assume are the owners, are very friendly. They even ask how many people you are ordering for when you order chips, to ensure the right serving size. They offer a variety of dishes, including calamari, potato scallops, seafood sticks, cocktails, and even pineapple fritters. The pineapple fritters are delicious, with two rings of pineapple in crispy batter dusted with cinnamon sugar. They are best enjoyed at home with ice cream. The prices are very reasonable, with a full meal costing only $10 per person. The restaurant is also well-equipped to handle COVID-19 protocols, with proper social distancing and plastic curtains to protect the staff. Additionally, they offer grilled fish options if requested. Overall, a fantastic dining experience.

Shortland's best hidden gem! Even though the prices are affordable, the food is still top-notch with generous portions in a traditional takeaway style. Keep in mind that the menu is not available online, but it's definitely worth stopping by to see it in person. I highly recommend trying the schnitzel with chips and gravy ($10) as well as the sweet potato scallops ($1).

I have never had a negative experience when ordering the traditional fish and chips, scallops, and Pluto pup at this restaurant. Next time, I plan to try their burgers and calamari.
