El Compadre - Shreveport

I usually trust Yelp for reviews, but this time it was wrong. The salsa had too much chili powder, and both dishes were very oily. I left feeling gross and stuffed. Overall, another letdown from a Mexican restaurant in Shreveport.

Perfecto! This is what Mexican food should be. Fresh, simple and tasty. The menu can be daunting because of its size but the dishes are well prepared and flavorful. The Tacos Campechana are my favorites. Tasty steak and chorizo in a corn tortilla. Rice and beans. What a meal. The salsa is also great. Service was friendly and attentive.

Love love this place and adore the owners and staff! Have had very minor complaints on rare occasion, but always corrected if pointed out!

My favorite local place to eat. Excellent food. Friendly folk. Original dishes. My son, who lives in New Orleans, insist on eating here when in town.
