We went by recommendation. The place was nice and the staff was attentive. We went for dessert, but when we said we would only eat dessert, the staff looking after us seemed upset. Chocolate sin cake was so dense I could only eat a forkful. Signature warm butter cake was very sweet, covered with crunchy sugar. The sugar was too much for us, we couldn't finish it.
I went to celebrate my birthday. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and treated with the utmost respect. I was seated immediately and asked if I was satisfied with my seat. The waitress was very attentive to me even though I was by myself. Multiple staff members came by to wish me a happy birthday. The food was delicious and prepared to my liking. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Especially for the wonderful butter cake.
Although the service and ambience was a plus, I believe what I go to a restaurant is ultimately the food. My fiancé 's steak was red (dripping blood) when she ordered medium plus. The lamb chops were plain. No rosemary, no balsamic reduction, no brown sugar glaze, nor was it offered. The nice surprise was the cheesecake. Very very good
The food was alright, the waitress was just like any other, but what really caught my attention was the segregated seating. I 've never been to a place where they were so blatant about it. I went to the restroom and on my way back to the table, I accidentally turned the wrong way and the other waiter practically blocked me with his hand. My husband and I were so curious that we asked our waiter if it was a private party. She replied, No, it 's just a quieter dining area. Haha, seriously? I 'm pretty sure I didn 't make reservations for the bar area, but hey, I don 't mind sitting in the colored section. Maybe next time, I 'll even get the white-only pie to go, if they allow it.
