Contribuisci feedbackI read the positive reviews of this zichar place and wanted to give it a try together with my family. The pork ribs was really the best of the four dishes we tried that night for dinner. This is followed by the hotplate vegetable dish. The kangkong and soup dishes were also great! My dad in law, who is usually very critical about food, was raving about this dinner we had on the car ride back home. He was very pleased with the quality and authenticity of the dishes cooked. Price of dinner was good too. We will most definitely be returning to try other dishes.
Great tze char home style cooking. Not overly oily or salty. Good pricing $60 for 5 dishes, small size. Hor fun was one of the better ones with good wok hei. Oatmeal prawns I prefer more oatmeal crumbs.
Spotted this local culinary gem while randomly looking around on Google Maps, visited on a Tuesday evening for dinner after reading all the rave reviews. For 2 persons we ordered the following: Hong Kong style steamed Garoupa $30) Samba Kang Kong Salted egg soft shell crab Seafood 'Horfun ' rice noodles Total price came up to $66.60. The best dish for me was the rice noodles. It was excellent, full of 'wokhei ' charred flavour, and the included shrimps were very tasty in contrast to many other places where tasteless freshwater farmed shrimps are used). The Sambal Kangkong vegetables were decent, though I would have preferred it a bit spicier and with a stronger Sambal flavour. I have mixed feelings regarding the salted egg soft shell crab. It was crispy but the salted egg flavour was missing. Here I would suggest adding salted egg sauce after frying the crab. The biggest disappointment was the Hongkong style steamed Garoupa. The flesh of the fish was tough and chewy, like it spent too much time in the freezer. For the sauce, while it did lend flavour to the otherwise flavourless fish, I would have preferred a lighter sauce, akin to seafood chain restaurants such as Crystal Jade. Service was fast and prompt, and the aunty was very friendly despite the number of takeaway orders she was literally almost running within the shop). Overall, a neighbouhood gem in my opinion, and I would be back to try other dishes recommended by the aunty. Thanks for reading!
Was early for dinner and we (2 adults and 2 kids) were the only customers. More came after 6.30pm. Ordered their in-house specialities and were not disappointed. Good price too. Was served by uncle and aunty who got busy in the kitchen after we ordered. If you want to support local, this will be the one.
Was looking for zichar in Tampines and came across this. It didn't disappoint! The best out of the 5 dishes (2 not pictured) is the pai gu wang. Delicious
