The decor was very outdated. The food in the bar was nice.. very disappointing for the staff as they can’t take tips from cards you would need cash if you wanted to leave them a tip. The town is walking distance which is great! Breakfast was nice but wasn’t worth €14 absolutely not we went to strand hill the second day for breakfast which I would recommend! We would return but not at the cost of what we paid.
Stayed there for 2 nights! Next door to bus and train station!, shop and bar across the road!! Definitely recommend it to anyone, great food, super staff!, am sorry I couldn't stay longer! And very cheap for 4star hotel!
I may have already rated this pleasent, dog friendly, period hotel. The guest rooms, lobby and bar are great with plenty of space, comfort and ambience. Zoe loved staying here although she would have preferred a room that opened to the outside where she could do her business. Even a room at ground level would do. Yes its dog friendly says Zoe but its not dog convenient she woofs. Its handy to town and a very short walk to the dog friendly Coach Lane restaurant. My only complaint was that it was a little expensive. Its next door to the railway and bus station so it is convenient. We would stay again but we would look for other dog friendly alternatives first.
We stayed there on Thursday night 24th August for a special occasion. Reception staff was lovely, really friendly and helpful. Room was okay. We had been promised at the time of booking, a nice room given it was a special occasion. The view from our window was a high ditch but room was clean and bed comfortable. No heating in room. Rad not working. Was given a blow heater as room was chilly in early evening. Food was where I had an issue. My husband enjoyed his but my ceaser salad was tiny and my chips tasted of fish. I told the girls on the floor who assured me that my Ceaser was mains size and not a starter as I questioned this. They informed the General Manager about my chips.Just to be clear, I cannot tolerate fish and am now finished my tiny salad feeling sick from the taste of fish in my mouth. I only tried 2 chips and my husband also tasted them and said they definitely tasted of fish. We were met by manager, Shane I think he introduced himself as. One of the Hotel owners as we were going to pay for our sub standard meal. Manager told us there was no way my chips could taste of fish. He went to great lengths to tell how us that my chips did not and could not taste of fish. At no point did he apologise or say he was sorry that I did not have a good food experience. He just kept telling us that they do not cross contaminate in their kitchen. I said I certainly hope they don't but my chips were basically in close contact someway or other with fish. He did not acknowledge that or the fact I was leaving his 4* restaurant feeling ill. All it would have taken was an apology. Very poor customer service in my opinion and from the General Manager. Not what you would expect from any hotel but a 4*.
Nice hotel in a great location only problem the room was too hot
