My second time being here in last 2 weeks.. First time popped in for lunch to see what was there as I was new in an area .. had beef burger with mash and veg for 15.50 eur.. burger was extremely dry and one of sides was sweet , probably honey glazed potatoes not sweet potatoes which I found weird .. feeling sorry for not taking pictures.. Today decided to give a go to coffee hoping that would improve my experience.. didn't happened unfortunately.. I'm lactose intolerant as so many other adults and the only non dairy milk available was oat which wasn't good enough as not everybody liked that specific taste ! Even much smaller establishments have 3 4 varieties available to cater for every taste .. the greatest con was banana bread so dry and coarse that made me choke , full of soda which was totally wrong for it as banana bread had to be moist !!! So I've made up my mind completely and won't be back there any soon , and yes , there are much better places around Smithfield to enjoy coffee and or lunch ..
We were a group of 50 people for my son's Christening. We are absolutely delighted we chose Christophe's!! The beef brisket was melt in your mouth with lovely mash and a gorgeous red wine jus. Joe is an absolute gentleman and was very open to any requests we had, such as playing instruments and making a dance floor for a quick jig! Thank you Joe and all the lovely staff for helping make our boys christening day very special! We will be sure to visit again when we are back in Dublin someday All the best Sean and Marianna
Really enjoyed a quick lunch here. Roast in a roll is totally recommended.
Whilst we came across Christophe’s because we were going on the Jameson whiskey tour, i’d say if you have anyone in your group who doesn’t want to partake in the whiskey tour then this is located within the grounds for them to not be disappointed whilst you enjoy the tour! Christophe’s is an independent coffee house where you can easily while away time in great comfort. The staff (and owner Joe are extremely lovely, friendly, welcoming and where an array of hot/cold beverages, food options from breakfast to lunch are served (absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced . We immensely enjoyed our late morning breakfast here which was freshly made to perfection, and our hot beverages were on point. After the whiskey tour we explored nearby (the church incl crypts! and then returned to Christophe’s for a late lunch around 3pm( this equally did not disappoint. We highly recommend you pay this gem of an independent coffee house a visit. We hope to return to Dublin in the future and would most definitely include Christophe’s as a breakfast/lunch venue of choice when visiting. Joe. and team thank you for making our wedding anniversary visit even more special with a glass of fizz slainte!
