There is a lack of hand sanitizer and no effort to space out tables for social distancing. The restaurant itself is quite dirty. I do not recommend dining here, especially with the high number of COVID cases in the area.
My wife had the Meat Lovers Skillet and I tried the Ultimate Omelette. Both dishes were fantastic - generous portions, top-quality ingredients, and friendly service.
We stopped for breakfast and were impressed by the large portions. The bacon and cheese omelette had lots of bacon and was delicious. The Eggs Benedict had perfectly poached eggs. The hash browns were good but the cottage fries were even better. The coffee was hot and everything we saw being served looked wonderful.
The King Salmon restaurant has struggled over the last year. They lost some key personnel last fall. Since then they have had issues with getting a steady menu. In general the food is good and the waitress staff excellent even though they seem to never get any time off. The Manager seems a bit aloof and does not seem to roll up her sleeves to help the staff when needed. Recently the restaurant was closed on a Saturday for “spring cleaning”. This was strange at best. I hope this place can get their act together before the tourist season. We definitely need another local restauran.
Just over a month ago new management took over at the King Salmon Restaurant. We went there a couple days later to eat and were so unimpressed we walked out without ordering. Of course that would have been difficult to do since there was no menu to order from, only the buffet which was less than stellar. But we decided to give them some time to get sorted. We heard several negative comments over social media but still gave it more time. Finally this past Sunday we decided to try it out and see if things had changed for the better. Much to our dismay it really hadn’t. I have not seen such a limited (dare I say small) menu since the early 60’s when we moved from GA to Alaska and stayed at a small family run lodging facility one night. The buffet had its good and bad items. The meat selection was ok except for the patty sausage which was tasteless. The potatoes were cold and the “gravy” (for biscuits and gray) not very palatable. Not impressed.... others we know from there have echoed our findings. Maybe another couple months? We’ll see.
