Wipperaue - Solingen

Thanks to the staff who recommended this restaurant as it would not be easy to find. the photos do not give the atmosphere a meal on their terrace would be great for a romantic evening or celebration. it is a little pricy, but the food was beautiful and the Dutch waiter was very attentive. it would go back there for a special occasion. there were proper hygiene measures.

Yesterday we were in this restaurant and we were really dissapointed: winter menu in the spring, very ordinary dishes, bad vitello tonato (very small part of the salsa-tonnata, so they eat only meat.) nothing seasonal, nothing inventive, boring weingut, personal nice, but nothing special....Hardly, we come back.

We visited this restaurant last week for dinner and we were very excited about the kitchen, service and interieur. a beautiful place to relax and relax with friends. it is also good for business meetings. Apart from standard menus, they offered a...very creative dish that was a combination of slowly cooked chicken of a young boar with a super sauce. beside the chickes, the dish included wonderfully tasting snails and walnuts and was served on a Risotto bed. we have learned that the chef will leave until the end of the year and will be successful by a dame chef. So we do not know how the things will progress, but if they maintain the level we have experienced, it is a great place to stay. there is so much to add to our comments, but we do not want to disclose too much. the wine list is excellent and even the wine on the glass is great and moderately expensive. Why did I use the title risotto challenge? just because I told our waiter from Spain that I don't like so much risotto, and he replied sir, we would be happy to accept this challenge. that was a stylish answer for me and the taste really convinced me.

I have stayed here on several occupants, as it is close to our offices in Germany. the hotel is beautiful in a great small location. it has an amazing story that they can read in the reception area and they have great care. in the renovation of the building. all the things feel amazingly well built with hard forests and stolen everywhere, giving it a solid feeling that is difficult to explain until they experience it themselves. the breakfast is served in the restaurant in the morning and is of high quality and is always a highlight of the stay for me. there are two problems that I have with this hotel, first the restaurant that is closed on Monday, well, actually they are quite close to the entire hotel below and on at least one okkkassion there was no personal before location at all, even at the reception as they were all left. the other problems are that the rooms have no air conditioning and they get amazingly hot and there is no possibility to get cold air into them, although not untyupical of German hotels it is no less a problem that I hate. I woudl still stay here despite my little mourning, because cost and quality of the hotel are great, although I would avoid Monday evenings:

Wipperau has been transformed into a very attractive location for wedding and other celebrations. Its riverside beer garden is a lovely spot to have a drink and light meal. However, the beautifully situated outdoor dining experience at the front side of the hotel lacks trained...staff. They are polite but inefficient and slow. The food can be described as average. A pity, the place has such potential, it just needs to be more professional with its service. Stil worth a visit to enjoy the location.
