I initially wanted to cut it, but it was such a struggle that I eventually gave up and settled for eating it with my hands, which got quite messy. The menu mentioned eggs but didn’t specify that they were piled on top of the toast. It was a bit odd to serve it that way, but I just pushed them to the side of the plate, and that was fine. However, what really overwhelmed this dish was the thick layer of fig guava jam. It was so sweet that I found myself tired of that flavor halfway through. Most of the other ingredients were drowned out by the jam, and towards the end, I finally noticed the bacon. I had almost forgotten there was supposed to be bacon in the dish, which suggests either there wasn't much to begin with, or the jam completely overshadowed it. On the plus side, I appreciate their range of non-alcoholic juice combinations, which is great for those who don’t drink and also works for anyone looking to add their own liquor to create cocktails. I’d be willing to give them another chance, as it might have just been an off day. However, I certainly wouldn’t go back on a weekend when it’s busy, since there are plenty of similarly satisfying dining options in Somerville without the long wait. I expect that the wait times will improve as the novelty wears off and more people have tried the place.

I absolutely loved it! It was an amazing experience with fantastic food—definitely worth the drive. One of the highlights is the lovely commercial strip it's located on, filled with charming and cozy shops. It's perfect for a leisurely stroll before or after a delightful brunch. Their French toasts are incredibly delicious and truly stand out from the rest. Don’t hesitate to add brunch at De Martino to your must-try list!
Rating: 10 out of 10. My husband had wanted to visit this restaurant for a while, and now I understand why—it was fantastic! They don't accept reservations, so we had to join the waitlist, but thankfully, the wait wasn’t long at all. The restaurant is cozy, yet it doesn’t feel cramped. Our waitress, Gabriella, was incredibly friendly. I ordered the crème brûlée French toast while my husband chose the tres leches French toast along with steak and eggs. Everything was absolutely delicious. The crème brûlée French toast wasn’t overly sweet, nor was the tres leches French toast. They do offer maple syrup with both dishes, but honestly, it's not necessary. We will definitely return!
De Martino is a fantastic little place for brunch. Their menu offers a wide variety of choices to suit everyone’s taste. The portions are generous, and the food is packed with flavor, featuring a Latin twist on traditional brunch items. Even on a hectic Sunday when they were quite busy, our meals were served promptly, and the owner personally delivered our dishes, demonstrating their commitment to good service. Weekends can be hectic, but it’s definitely worth a visit. Check it out!
